No, not all muslims are terrorists

Reference Article: Are All Muslims Terrorists?

The answer to the question is clear. No, not all muslims are terrorists and I could not agree more with your point of view on this matter. ISIS pretends to follow the Qur'an in their own ways, interpreting it in a very twisted way. Sadly I do believe there's more than a handful extremist following this group. From all over the world and not exclusively muslims. And while I applaud Barak Barfi's challenge I believe it will not help just as you stated in your writing "you cannot treaty with rabid animals." Regardless, after reading your article I would really like to know what would help.

Excessive Force

Body Cameras on Police officers

In todays modern society, technology is all around us. This gives people a sense of connection pretty much anywhere and at any given time. With the rising issues on police brutality we see people recording police more than ever before. This is not illegal and on the contrary is a citizens way of protecting themselves, from the police? Since when did the police become a threat to a private citizen? Has police brutality always been around us but we just caught on to this trend by the means of technology and social media. In my opinion, police brutality has always been among us but has been overlooked in the past as it wasn’t an issue that was brought up by the media.

It is obvious that the citizens of the United States do not condone this kind of bad practice. And it is understandable that African Americans feel targeted by police, as consequence we have the Baltimore riots. Statistics back up the issue of racial profiling by police officers. I firmly believe violence is almost always not resolved with more violence, and if so one of the two parties will end up badly harmed which will more likely encourage some form of retaliation. Are there any real solutions? Body cameras have been largely implemented by the U.S. Department of Justice. While it is very costly to get every single policeman to have a camera attached to their uniform, it is good for a start that 50,000 policeman where equipped with this new technology. After this fact the U.S. department of justice revealed statistics on a study. The conclusion is body cameras often discourage officers to use brutality which fell by 60%, for the officers wearing a camera.

Body cameras combined with citizens protecting themselves by recording is a feasible solution. But morality is the most important part of this situation. The police should have much more stricter penalties for officers recurring to lethal weapons firsthand. But civilians should not be scared of the police but rather respect an authority that was put in place to protect us. Which has long been forgotten.

You can run but you can't hide

Privacy is now a trending issue that is directly tied to our communication technology resources. Nowadays such thing as privacy does not exist. And this is mainly because the most popular social media services, web search engines, cellphones, and computers overall are constantly being monitored by the U.S. Government. Such actions In my opinion are not always so inconvenient, only in such matters of security of course.

Ever since 2013 when Edward Snowden former NSA Employee revealed how “personal” information is constantly monitored by the National Security Agency there is no doubt people would start to speak up about the issue. This government agency is literally spying on the people living in this country and no doubt even people in other countries. I do believe that privacy is a right we should all have, but at what cost? The NSA states that tracking and monitoring data is lawful, and that they do not collect everyone’s data but some of it comes “incidentally" or not on purpose but because there’s bulk of information being collected it just so happens to end up in their hands.

Is this immoral? maybe. Is this necessary? maybe. Who knows what would be different if the NSA would not do this sort of practice. Perhaps everything would be the same. But perhaps there has been a variety of events that have been prevented from this controversial privacy violating practice.

The Long Game Of Barack Obama

By Andrew Sullivan - The Daily Dish.

I have chosen this article to write my critique about since i’ve found it compelling how the author really supports and stands behind his piece of writing. Nonetheless we also have briefly discussed President Obama and the maybe chance of his era being a realignment.

In this article the author’s intended audience is the average american that has access to the internet and at least some sort of political interest. The writing i found to be quite colloquial and it being a blog leads me to find this writing's audience to be the aforementioned.

Andrew Sullivan, a graduate from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and advocated political writer since 1986 prove him an educated and experienced writer in matters of government and it’s politics.

Sullivan’s argument in this article is clearly pro-Obama with claims of favoring public approval, better economy, deficit, liberal rights, and war situations than before. These can all be backed up by statistics except for quote “The economy? It’s growing faster than anywhere else in the world.” As far as I could reach from numbers and statistics from CIA World Factbook, and The World Bank Organization the United States does not have the fastest growing economy in the world but it is the largest. The last two paragraphs strike my as deeply subjective in which the author intends to share with the reader his “mixed feelings” by which then i intend to infer that his logic is backed up by the evidence of the presidents’ efforts and accomplishments.

Government Plays Tag While DHS Rests Uneasy

Sixteen months after a Government shutdown. Why did that happen?A lack of combined resolutions by the Government of the U.S. Now the Department of Homeland Security on the verge of being defunded, while the Government is playing a political, yet childish "tag" game.

So, I decided to read And Now, Homeland Security by Gail Collins
I liked her sarcastic style of writing. She is clearly not happy with the republicans and i assume republican readers would not be happy either. So clearly the people that would read this article and end up with a sort of grin on their face would be Democrats. Bashing on the Republicans stating that they cannot come up with their own policies is just  enough to figure this out. The article is solid but some information seems misguiding. As i read more about this issue i encountered an article on the Washington Post called What to expect if Homeland Security Shuts Down This Week the article clearly states that work that is "Necessary For Safety Of Life And Protection Of Property." will continue. Only about 13% of the DHS workforce would be sent home. They even went as far as to show a white house planning list of departments that were exempt from the 2013 shutdown. All this contrary to a "Do you think it’s a little worrisome that the powerful right flank of the House is made up of people who believe a good way to show their opposition to Obama’s liberal immigration policy is to cut off the border patrol’s paychecks?".

The problem is clear. Republicans are not in accordance with President Obama's recently introduced Immigration Policy while our President and the Democrats are sure that this is the best answer to immigration policy. Granting illegal immigrants work permits and such if requirements are met.

The Evidence is also clear. A wait until last minute call by congress on the issue and the resolution of the funding for a mere week is more than enough evidence of the ongoing issue.

The logic is unclear only because there's more than one opinion on the issue. It is quite clear though that the policy is more than likely going to pass.

Obama's Plan To Tax Overseas Earnings Draws Scrutiny

Most American corporations are international, as a whole they account for about $2 trillion dollars in overseas accounts. Money that is not being taxed by the Government of the United States.

President Barack Obama has recently proposed substantial changes to the tax code. In hope of utilizing part of the sales revenue of US corporations for the benefit of the citizens. While the majority of the government agrees to this there is a substantially variation on the ideology to accomplish this. Obama and the democratic party suggest taxing 14% on the money regardless of it being kept overseas while the Republicans with their efforts being previously made to accomplish this had the same concept but with a lower tax rate. This makes sense because corporations are being taxed a very little amount of their profits overseas by taking advantage of the low tax rates of other countries such as Luxembourg and Ireland. While this is legal the Government believes that these corporations being American should pay tax to their home country, the U.S. hence the  aforementioned efforts.

Corporations moving profits overseas has been going on for a really long time. Taking advantage of tax breaks and low tax rates of other countries while being legal it is not the best of their ethics. This article of many out there really catches my attention and it should be relevant to you as well because this affects us in many ways. I'm very neutral about the subject only because of the impact that this would have on the way companies behave and act if this came into effect. It gives the reader a lot to think if one hypothesizes the chain of effects that this would have on the citizens of the U.S. and not just the corporations.
